The Journal is a widely circulated internationally recognized medical journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles.
The Journal is published in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
History

The Journal Today
Today, the Journal continues to encourage the publication of papers from all branches of the neurosciences. Journal policy is based on the firm belief that specialists working on the nervous system share many common interests and have important ideas to communicate to each other.
The Journal publishes original work in both the clinical and basic neurosciences. The circulation is currently 1,500 and consists of society members, non-members and institutions in Canada, the United States and abroad.

CJNS Issues and Supplements
Once a CJNS Issue and/or Supplement is posted within the CJNS online Journal, notification is provided to PubMED through Metapress. Upon receipt of notification, PubMED may take upto 72 hours to post Journal Issues online.

CJNS Supplements
Upon notification of supplements being posted on the CJNS online Journal, the following process occurs at PubMED:
- All supplements are tentatively hidden after they have been loaded and it is discerned whether the supplement conflicts with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors policies. Visit http://www.icmje.org/#conflicts for more information.
- After supplements have been reviewed and confirmed with proper conflict of interest disclosures, the citations will be "unhidden" and be available again in PubMed.
- Supplements published in 2008 and later, it will be required that author disclosure statements appear within the paginated text of the article.
- Refer to the NLM Fact Sheet regarding Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Journal Supplements in MEDLINE for detailed information: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/factsheets/supplements.html
